Des Moines Stand Down for Homeless Veterans

Please join us for a celebration on July 7, 2023 - the party starts at 7:00 PM with fireworks at dusk (around 9:30). Come listen to the NOLA Jazz Band from Des Moines, enjoy a free meal and fireworks as we support veterans in Central Iowa.

As we celebrate the Fourth with family, friends and fireworks this year, we want to remember the people who made it possible. This years fireworks show benefits Des Moines Homeless Veterans Stand Down (HVS). HVS is a local charity for veterans who have fallen on rough times. Every year HVS holds an event in downtown Des Moines where veterans can obtain just about any assistance needed - from food and clothing to medical and legal assistance. This Fourth, we hope to give a little back in return to the men and women who have given so much to our country by providing meals at the Stand Down event in September.
