Hey y'all, my name is Heidi and I am here helping out my bestest friend, De Macho.
On Saturday, September 27th, De woke up like any other day, made breakfast, and started her phone calls for the day. She said she heard loud noises and thought it was coming from the TV. It was not; it was her body telling her something wasn't right. She sat at her perch (if you know, you know). She then started to vomit. In those moments, she knew something was very wrong and she dialed 911. She literally saved her own life; she is a badass!
De ended up having a blood clot in her brain, which was swelling and causing the stroke. The ambulance took her to Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, where they made the decision to send her to Abbott. She is currently at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis getting treatment. She is still in the ICU but doing quite well and is hopefully moving down a floor to continue her care in the next day or two. She is definitely not out of the woods just yet, but the doctors say she is moving in the right direction, so that is awesome.
Visitors that have already seen De say that she hasn't lost her wit and she's giving those nurses a good laugh here and there! De has been doing physical, occupational, and speech therapy since arriving at the hospital. She hasn't lost her spirit, that's for sure!
De is the nicest, funniest, most compassionate person I know, so seeing her down for the count is hard and knowing she will have a long road ahead of her is hard to sit back and do nothing. So here I am asking friends, family, and even strangers to help out De. She will be out of work for a while and we all know the bills will continue to come, and now adding a bunch more medical bills to the list. Any help is sooo very appreciated at this time. And I will keep updating this page as much as I possibly can to give y'all a heads up on what's going on with our girl De.
Thanks for all the support thus far and let's get De back on her feet and back home.
Love and Peace
