In October 2017, I was lucky enough to be selected for my first Surgicorps International mission to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to volunteer at an Odonto Maxillo Facial hospital. I was a member of a group comprised of medical and non-medical volunteers with an aim to provide free surgical and medical care to those in need. Throughout the week I assisted with surgeries, helping the group to successfully run three operating rooms and complete approximately 65 plastic reconstructive surgeries on Vietnamese patients.
This past June 2018, I joined the Surgicorps team on my second volunteer mission to Astana, Kazakhstan. As one of the 12 volunteers, we worked tirelessly to change the lives of children and their families, by providing free surgical care.
I am excited to announce that I have been accepted to be a part of the Surgicorps' team that is travelling to Zambia in September 2019! This is a cause that I am personally passionate about, and I am reaching out to my friends and family for donations that would be directly applied to the cost of my participation in this mission.
Unfortunately there are many people I have met all over the world who have suffered more than most of us can imagine. If you are unable to travel to another country like Vietnam and Kazakhstan to volunteer, please consider donating toward my third mission trip to Zambia! Any donation is greatly appreciated, and would help lower my out of pocket costs toward travelling to this country.
Please consider visiting the Surgicorps website for further information.
