Derrick Henry has been selected as the Week 18 NFLPA Community MVP after blessing kids in three different cities for Christmas through his Two All Foundation.
In Baltimore, the Ravens running back worked with social workers to identify the 30 kids in greatest need at both Curtis Bay and Commodore John Rodgers elementary schools. Each of the 60 total students received a gift card to purchase a present from their wish list and pick it up during a special event that featured holiday cheer and photos with the Grinch.
Back in his former team city of Nashville, 70 kids from the local Boys & Girls Club received gift cards to go on a shopping spree at Dick's Sporting Goods, thanks to the man they simply call "Uncle D."
Finally, in Henry's hometown of Yulee, Florida, he hosted his annual holiday giveaway, where the first 500 kids to arrive at Walmart were able to pick one gift from tables filled with toys. This marks the second straight year that Henry has been named an NFLPA Community MVP, demonstrating his continued commitment to supporting underserved youth through his nonprofit.
In recognition of Henry being named NFLPA Community MVP for Week 18, the NFL Players Association will donate $10,000 to his nonprofit of choice. Along with the other Community MVPs from this season, he will also be eligible for the Alan Page Community Award, which is the NFLPA’s highest player honor and includes an additional $100,000 donation.
As part of a new supporting partnership with GoFundMe, fans can now also make a donation directly to the NFLPA Community MVP’s selected nonprofit here. All donations are tax-deductible and will go directly to the player's selected nonprofit.
Now in its 12th season, the NFLPA’s award-winning Community MVP campaign is part of the union’s continued efforts to support the year-round civic outreach and engagement of its player members. For more information about NFLPA Community MVP program, visit here.
