Fundraising in aid of Mary Franca Orphanage Home
The Rotary Club of Hendon is raising much-needed funds in support of the Mary Franca Foundation Orphanage Home in Owerri, Uratta South-East Nigeria.
The Mary Franca Foundation Orphanage Home was founded in 2011 by Mrs Mary Franca Chukwudire, a former University lecturer at the Alvan Ikoku College of Education. Inspired by what she describes as a 'call to service' as she retired, Mrs Chukwudire has dedicated her life to the care and support of orphaned and abandoned babies and young children.
The Orphanage Home is currently located within a temporary site and is facing a serious risk of displacement. We are urgently raising funds to help the organisation build a permanent accommodation to secure the safety, shelter and well-being of the vulnerable children that they look after.
The Rotary Club of Hendon fundraised in 2021 under the presidency of Charlyn Duru and Tee Nzekwe adopted the project in his first year of presidency and is working hard to ensure that the project is completed in his second tenure as President. The children's current home is uninhabitable and they need to move to somewhere safe. We have so far through your generous donations roofed the building and we now need to raise more money to complete it and furnish the home. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us.
Please help us in reaching our goal of protecting the lives of these innocent children.
Thank you for your generosity.
