Deo & Family

I met Deo a couple years ago, it was immediately obvious that he was someone who was such a genuine person and such a handworker. As I got to know him I realized there was much more to his story, as a survivor of the Rwanda Genocide. Over time he shared with me his family had been killed in front of him and he was the lone survivor of his entire family. He moved to Canada and started a new life with his wife and then started a family and has been living happily here since 2017, got his citizenship in 2023.
For about 2 months I did not see Deo, so when he was back I asked where he had been. He said his wife had fallen and hurt herself, been in hospital and bedridden to recover, so he had to stay home and take care of the kids (aged 2 and 5). His company would not pay for his leave so then he could not pay rent and was evicted. So he got a bank loan, sent his wife and kids to stay with her sister back in Rwanda so he could get back to work and find a new place to live. She is now well and wants to return and get back to work and reunite the family. I would like to raise some money to help him to find a new place to live with his family and to help pay for the airfare to get his family back to Vancouver, and so am also asking if you could give something via this Go Fund Me to help him also.
