Hello family, friends and colleagues
I’ve long admired Christina Noble, the Dublin-born children’s rights campaigner and founder of the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation. Her life story and the incredible work she has done for vulnerable children in Vietnam have always stayed with me.
Next month, my niece holly has the very special opportunity to visit the Tay Ninh Centre for Visually Impaired Children with the foundation team - something the charity doesn’t do too often. It’s an experience that means a huge amount to our family and it’s inspired me to take on a Hyrox challenge in support of the centre and her visit.
Tay Ninh was heavily affected during the Vietnam War and was one of the regions most impacted by Agent Orange. As a result, many children were born with severe visual impairments and other disabilities. Many also come from families facing significant hardship, and have experienced exclusion and limited access to care and support.
In response to this need, the Christina Noble Children’s Foundation established the Tay Ninh Centre for Visually Impaired Children in 1999. The centre provides a safe, nurturing environment along with food, healthcare and education - giving these children the opportunity to grow, develop independence and build a future within their communities.
I’ll be taking on Hyrox Hybrid Sim on April 4th along with my lovely partner Justine to raise as much as possible ahead of my niece’s visit on April 17th, so that she can contribute directly to this incredible centre. All funds will be given, in person directly to the centre.
Any support, big or small, would mean the world to me.
Thank you so so much for your support.
xx Denise
