First of all thank you so much for
taking time out of your day to read this.  I
am starting this go fund me on behalf of my
sister Makayla Lord, her husband Brad
Lord, their son Denver Lord, and the
main reason Demi Rae Lord.

My sweet little niece, Demi Rae Lord,
was brought into this world via
emergency c section on Monday 9/7/20
(Labor Day) at 7:43am at French
Hospital weighing 9lbs 7oz. This was
three days after her scheduled
induction (Friday at 8am) due to the
hospital being full.

My sister had a completely normal
pregnancy with no complications.
However, minutes after Demi was born
she was rushed to French Hospital’s
neonatal care. Shortly after she was
transferred to the Marian Medical
Hospital NICU for pulmonary
hypertension. The same night she was
born, she was airlifted to Valley
Children’s Healthcare in Madera, CA
(Fresno area) for extra assistance due to
her critical condition.

She is currently receiving Extracoporeal
Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO)
treatment to rest her body and allow her
lungs to heal. They do not know how long
she will need to be on this or what will
happen after she is taken off.

With Demi’s current condition there are a
lot of unknowns. So unfortunately for
Brad and Makayla, doctors cannot give
them an answer on how long they will be
there.

Usually families can stay at the Ronald
McDonald house which is free of charge,
but because of COVID, it is closed.
Currently they are staying at a motel
near the hospital. 

Brad is self employed and Makayla was
planning on being a stay at home mom
after Demi was born. They have a two
year old son, Denver who they have been
away from to be with Demi night and
day.

I kindly ask from the bottom of my heart
that you consider donating something to
my wonderful family. Even if you cannot
donate something of monetary value, a
prayer and positive thought go a long
way! They are going through something
no parent should ever have to go
through. My sister and brother in law
have not even got to hold their little girl
yet.

We just want to do everything we
possible can to give her the best quality
of life. We know at Valley Children’s
Healthcare she is getting the absolute best
care that she needs.
