Dementia Awareness Hike

We, the staff of Pure Homecare, are reaching out to you today with an urgent appeal for your support in our upcoming fundraising event. We have set ourselves an ambitious goal to complete a 40-mile hike in one day, starting from our Birmingham office and concluding at our head office in Leicester. This grueling journey is not only a physical challenge for us but also a symbolic representation of the perseverance and determination required in the fight against dementia.

Why dementia, you may ask? This devastating condition affects millions of lives around the world, and the severity of its impact cannot be overstated. Dementia steals memories, robs individuals of their identities, and disrupts the lives of not only the patients but also their families and loved ones. It is a progressive and irreversible disease that affects cognitive functions, including memory, thinking, and reasoning.

At Pure Homecare, we witness the profound effects of dementia on a daily basis. Our dedicated team taking on the 40 mile challenge, consists of Jas, Laura, Loveleen, Mital, Jodh, and Josh, who are a small part of a large team which provides essential care to numerous dementia patients across the Midlands. We have seen firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and the crucial role that support and awareness play in improving their quality of life.

That is why, in conjunction with National Walking Month, we have decided to organise this challenging hike to raise both funds and awareness for dementia. By embarking on this arduous journey, we aim to highlight the importance of helping those living with dementia and their families. Through your generous contributions, we can make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by this debilitating condition.

We have chosen to donate the funds raised from this event to Lisa and her team, who tirelessly run the dementia community projects for Leicester & Rutland Age UK charity. These local community projects provide much-needed support and care for individuals living with dementia, offering respite, activities, and vital resources to help maintain their well-being. Every donation we receive will go directly toward sustaining and expanding these crucial initiatives.
