DeLove Restoration House needs your support!
Hi, my name is Stephanie Gilmer, As you watch my video, I am so grateful to be able to have the opportunity to give lost women the same opportunity that was given to me through the Salvation Army at one of the lowest times in my life. I am now the owner of DeLove Restoration House Inc. We are a 501c3 Non-profit organization seeking donations to be able to bring more hurting women into our program.
For this to happen, I will need a fire sprinkler system throughout the house. We currently have 5 women in the home which is the most state regulations will allow me to have, without the fire sprinklers. We currently have a waiting list too. When I can have this project completed I will be able to have up to 10 women. My next request would be to add 2 rooms to the house and extend the bathrooms to accommodate 10 women.
Seems like a lot huh...
The house was opened on 11/11/2022 and already I am seeing what a difference the women who are in the house are making in their lives. Let me tell you some of the women's stories.
Michelle- is a 46-year-old who came into the house after becoming homeless due to not being able to work. Michell has a tumor in her stomach, which has caused her unbearable pain. the tumor has now grown as big as a basketball. Michell wasn't able to work any longer and became homeless. Michell had not seen a doctor because she had no medical, Michell is a refugee. After entering the house we were able to find community medical assistance for her and she is currently getting treatment. Michelle's hope has been restored and she will be returning to her employment with FedEx.
Charlene- is a 50-year-old who was referred to the house through her mental health counselor. Charlene entered the house scared and fragile with a few of her clothing and her laptop, not knowing what she was walking into. Charlene's son was able to assist her with her necessities, but one of the requirements for being in the house is to find employment. Every day for over a month Charlene would sit at the dining room table with her laptop seeking employment. After sitting down and talking with her, she exhorted on her being afraid to work in public, she stated she would have panic attacks and end up losing her job. Charlene was an emotional wreck. She is a very intelligent woman who is highly educated. I explained to her that she had symptoms of "Agoraphobia". I suggested that she find a remote job working from the house until she felt comfortable working in the public. Since then Charlene has acquired remote employment with the salary she desired. She has also entered into a debt consolidation program in which she has begun the process to become a first-time homeowner.
Ms. Elaine- is a 65-year-old who has been diagnosed with SMI (seriously mentally ill). Ms. Elaine was once an accountant at the bank, but something tragic happened to her in her younger years, she disconnected from reality. She is a sweet lady with no destiny. I was determined to stand alongside my sister and allow her to be restored through "Love" at DeLoves Restoration House. Today Ms. Elaine is attending her counseling session 3 times a week and is currently employed 3 days a week for 4 hours a day. She smiles and tells me she never wants to leave the program.
Kathy- is a 35-year-old who was referred to the house through her job. Kathy had become homeless and spoke with her superior at her current job, who referred her to the house. She is currently working toward permanent housing and bringing her 2 children back from Mexico. Kathy is a strong woman of God who is walking in her destiny.
Jackie- is a 40-year-old who called seeking a bed. She is currently finishing her externship in nursing and became homeless. Jackie can now continue her schooling. Jackie's daughter is supporting her stay at the house while she is in school. Jackie also will be entering into a debt relief program to begin her journey to purchasing her first home.
As you can see we are in the business of helping women be restored to become successful individuals in our community as well as with their families.
