Deja’s Maternity leave
Donation protected
Hey y’all! I am Kat Rialmo, owner of Mama Kat’s Sweets here in Oak Park. Y’all rallied together for me last year when Ms Kate Nolan started a GFM for my maternity leave, and it was such an amazing help that allowed me to take time to recover and bond with my newborn. Now It’s time for me to pay it forward.
Deja is a kindergarten teacher at Village Leadership academy and is approaching her due date (November 30) with her third child. Deja is a single mom with two little girls, Cali and Cori. Cori has sickle cell anemia, which can cause a lot of pain and requires extra support. Deja’s job does not provide any paid maternity leave and she deserves the time to rest, recover and bond with her newborn.
I have gathered a lot of supplies and have crib, mamaroo swing, bouncy seat, some post partum supplies, a couple carriers, newborn clothes, swaddles etc. but I want to help provide some relief when it comes to living expenses that don’t stop when you have a baby.
we are also getting Deja set up with a Chicago Volunteer Doulas for a post partum doula so she has extra support when they come home.
I have felt so so supported by this community and want to spread that love to someone who very much deserves a break.
Thank you for any donations and shares.
