Defend Scott Philp's Right to Provide Homes to Our Community
Donation protected
We are supporting Scott Philp in defending himself against Marion Township's effort to prevent him from providing badly needed homes in the Charlevoix Area. Marion Township's own attorney stated Scott has the constitutional right to rezone the property for this purpose, and there are 280 future families counting on Scott to continue in his efforts to move forward with this project.
The Marion Township planning commission, the Charlevoix County Planning Commission, and the Marion Township Board all approved the rezone request because Scott has the right to do this, as stated by the township's own attorney. But an organized effort, led by township residents running for office, appears to have mislead the township residents into thinking that a vote against this project would prevent it from happening. When, instead, it likely just delays the project and costs the township a lot of money in legal fees.
All monies donated will be distributed to assist in legal fees to support the effort to build homes in Marion Township.
We need to support developers like Scott Philp who are willing to build housing that will benefit low and middle income families in the Charlevoix Area. Scott's Project will do just that.
