The future of Illinois Republican leadership is at a crossroads. Our primary elections are the foundation of our democracy, and they must reflect the true will of grassroots conservatives—not the influence of outside operatives or those seeking to undermine our movement. Recently, Joseph Severino entered the ILGOP primary under questionable circumstances, and serious allegations have arisen that he’s working with Democrats to disrupt it. Additionally, he relied on out-of-state individuals to collect signatures and attempted to disrupt the process that so many of us have worked tirelessly to protect. We know that Severino previously ran as an Independent and Democrat in 2024. He was also a 2016 Never Trumper and a big BLM supporter. This is not the history of a real MAGA candidate. These are examples of Democratic behavior. Through determination and unity, we successfully challenged his candidacy before the Illinois Board of Elections, revealing that many of his signatures were invalid and dropping him below the legal threshold to remain on the ballot. Yet, the fight for integrity is far from over—Severino is now appealing, and the stakes have never been higher.

This legal battle is about more than one candidate; it’s about defending the voice of every Illinois Republican who believes in fair, transparent, and honest elections. The resources required to continue this fight are significant, and every dollar raised will go directly toward the attorney fees needed to see this challenge through. We cannot allow outside interference to dictate the future of our party or silence the voices of those who care most about its direction. Last year, we saw firsthand how Pritzker meddled in our primary, changing the outcome of the race in his favor. We can’t allow Democrats to impact our primaries. This year, we could stand together and show that Illinois Republicans will not be intimidated or manipulated.
