Due to the rising incidents and brutal acts of violence commited against our eloteras / eloteros, street vendors, I feel that it is our duty to defend and protect our hardworking gente who on a daily go out and work long hours in the heat to provide for their families, to put food on the table and keep a roof over their heads.  For many it is their only source of income in these trying times. It's unjust that they are in a voulnerable position and a target to these brutal attacks that have even killed them.  As our duty to protect our elders I want to be able to provide them with a form of protection while they are out their hustling hard to earn a living.
