Deer Creek Ranch: Community Mailboxes

Many of our neighbors have had their mail stolen, and the Dripping Springs Post Office has told us that new residents will not be allowed to place freestanding mailboxes along Sandy Beach.

The goal of this GoFundMe is to purchase THREE secure, gray Cluster Box Unit (CBU) Mailboxes and the cost of installing a concrete pad. If fully funded, this campaign will pay for 64 resident mailboxes.

The location of the Mailboxes will be Longhorn Skyway at Twin Lake Loop, where a bank of CBUs is currently located.

Each CBU has sixteen mailboxes. The Dripping Springs Post Office will give us an EXTRA CBU Mailbox for FREE and perform the installation of the Mailboxes.

As of 1/31/2025, the best price for 3 Gray CBU Mailboxes is through Mailbox Works at $2,280 each. With 8.25% tax and free shipping, the total for the mailboxes is $7,404.30. The estimate for the concrete pad is $4,000. We are asking each resident to donate $185 to secure your mailbox - send your address in a private message. This also covers GoFundMe's 3% and $0.30 per donation fee.

Any funds collected over the goal amount will go to our local postal carrier, Maurice Hastie as a thank you, and for repairs to his minivan that he uses to deliver our mail. He is responsible for spearheading this initiative!
