We are gathering funds to obtain a legal review and advise in the rezoning of 29 acres in north phoenix to allow higher density housing (by Taylor Morrison). The land in question is currently zoned S1 (1-acre min. rural). The property bordered by S1 zoned properties and mountain preserve land. There is very limited access into the area. The rezoning of the property is a case of spot-zoning and would be extremely detrimental to the entire area.

Last night, the city council voted to approve the re-zoning. This after a unanimous vote against the rezoning by the planning commission. There were obviously back-door agreements between the city personnel and developer that lead to updated development layouts that were deemed approvable by the council. The revised layouts, with major changes from previous layouts, were never presented to the area residents and many of the area residents were denied an opportunity to speak at the council meeting.
We, the area residents, are gathering funds to investigate and pursue whatever legal options we may have in the matter. Please contribute as you can. Please indicate who you are as you contribute so we can re-distribute any excess funds (as necessary).
