We are Mike and Joey DeDomenic and we are grateful that you have taken the time to hear our story. If this is the first time you are getting to know about us....

Here is a little of our history:

We have always felt that adoption would be how we would grow our family. Ultimately we believe that every human being is valued and deserves to be loved and we have felt the push to be a home for a child and a safe and loving answer for a mother who chooses us. After years of waiting for the right time we started the adoption process in 2020. We began crowdfunding, were home-study approved, and thanks to our amazing friends & family became fully funded (at that time) all by the end of the year.

In 2021 we were selected as prospective adoptive parents. In late April we got the call that she was giving birth so we hit the road. At the hospital we were placed with a sweet baby boy, however after five days we were notified that they were choosing to parent. Despite how difficult that was for us, we fully celebrate their decision. In January of 2022, we had one other prospect of a placement but ultimately they also chose to parent.

Here's what's new:

Most recently, the agency we were working with has decided to close their private infant adoption program (our program). This came as a shock and ultimately meant we needed to find another agency in order to proceed. We believe with our whole hearts that this truly is what we are meant to do, so we press on. We have searched and found a new agency and we are excited to work with them. They have a national reach and good reputation.

Thankfully we still have the majority of the money we previously raised (minus what we lost with the first disruption in 2021) to allow us to begin working with this new agency immediately. These funds will cover all FIXED agency expenses throughout the three phases of their program.

This brings us to where we are today and why we need to crowdfund again:

As a part of this agency's infant adoption program, we are responsible for covering the birth mother's living / housing & medical expenses in full throughout the third trimester and recovery (up to 4-6 weeks after birth). We are very supportive of this approach as this is a tangible way to support her and ease her burdens as she makes the decision to choose life. This amount is "actual cost" but the total estimated fee for this agency is between $50,000-$55,000.

Just to reiterate we do still have $35,000 from the amazing support we received the first time around, leaving us with the $20,000 deficit.

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the generosity, support and encouragement that has been given to us over the past 2 1/2 years. It has been a trying road to say the least but we are encouraged by this new door opening and we look forward to the day that we welcome a little one into our home.
