Dec Allen-Stokes

Hi all, on Saturday 31st August during Wantage Town's fixture with Ludlow, my teammate & good friend Dec Allen-Stokes suffered a double leg break & ankle dislocation in the 77th minute of the game resulting in its abandonment.

Dec was taken to hospital in the evening at around 9pm and has since had 2 successful surgeries at Shrewsbury Hospital to straighten the leg and repair the damage caused. This injury has most definitely ended Dec's season and the road to recovery will be a lengthy one, however more importantly Dec is a self-employed scaffolder and is therefore going to be unable to work for an extended period of time and as a result will be receiving no income.

On behalf of Dec, myself and everyone associated with Wantage Town Football Club we welcome and massively appreciate any donations, no matter how big or small, to help support Dec throughout what will be a challenging period physically, mentally & financially. There are also plans being put in place for fundraisers throughout the season at home matches, so your support in attending those fixtures will also help to support Dec further.
