Deb's Name Change for Pension

Hello, I’m Ashe, and this fundraiser is so my mom, Deb, can get her legal name changed; her former employers are refusing to release her pension until this is done. This is to also help undo the ties from my abusive father, and return her to her maiden name. However, between the minimum wage in the US not being enough to even live on, and bills constantly piling up, it’s been impossible for her to save the money needed to get this done.

This is where we can come in! My mom supports both her household and ours while I’m applying for disability, and while I cannot work, I can still do this in return. She’s struggled as a single mother all my life, taking care of my grandparents and great-grandma before they passed, and being a shoulder for anyone to cry on. She’s survived her demons and deserves to live her life again, with her proper name, and with the money she deserves.

To my fellow LGBT+ friends and family, many of us know what it’s like to not be the proper legal name, to have it stop you from getting the support you need, or to even just feel whole. I know it too, and while a second name change is needed for me, I want to be sure my mom gets hers first and foremost. She’s fought for her whole life, and others' lives too, so she deserves us to help her fight this time, and get her proper name back.

A few cents, a dollar, or even just spreading the word about this will be a huge help! Please! Help my mom be who she is again! Help her survive in this cruel world; because while the world is cruel, the people in it are so kind, and I believe if we all work together, we can help her survive, and maybe even thrive!
