On January 3, 2018 my younger brother, De’andre Taylor (25 years old) left this world unexpectedly in a fatal car crash. In his passing, De’andre left behind a 2 year old daughter, a 3 year old son, a sister, a niece, and a nephew; he was the sole provider for all of them. We are blessed to say De’andre’s children were spared during the crash. With that being said, they were left without their support system. I am not usually one to reach out and ask for help, however, there are children involved so I am setting aside my pride. My brother did not have life insurance so it is up to me to do all that I can to help. In August 2017, De’andre and I lost our father to cancer. As you may be able to imagine, the expenses were unreal and my family was not prepared for it. My family has never been well off and we struggle often. I have worked so hard to better the lives of my family, however, I am only one person and I can confidently say I cannot do it alone. We have lost so much in such a short period of time it is hard to stomach. De’andre was not perfect though he was trying to better his life everyday. His children will grow up to admire him the way so many do. It is all still too surreal and far too early to be okay. With every second that goes by I am constantly being reminded how short life can be. With that being said, I have come to realize that the world stops for no one. Unfortunately, in our time of grief we must think about the financial obligations that have come with this tragedy. I want to try to raise enough money to assist with the funeral expenses (head stone and a plot of land). I would also like to be able to put away some money for the kids to attend college when the time comes. Anything helps and a share can go a long way. I am beyond grateful for the help words cannot explain.
