Deacon was born August 19, 2020 at 2:55 AM. He spent 22 days in the Carle hospital NICU unit in Champaign, IL. We cannot thank everyone enough for all the love and support we received while he was in the NICU. We also cannot say enough good things about the Carle doctors, nurses, and staff. Not only was the personnel great at Carle, but the small gifts Deacon received during his stay were also much appreciated. These gifts included books, blankets, socks, and hats. One such gift was a book called “Too Many Tomatoes”. As Deacon received this gift, it made us think back to the morning that Kymber was surprisingly admitted to the hospital. Right before we left for Kymber’s appointment, we walked out and took a quick look at the garden just like we did every morning. That morning it looked like a jungle, just completely overrun with tomatoes. When we received this book in the NICU from a complete stranger, it was pretty apparent that it wasn’t a coincidence. This book was God’s way of reminding us that he’s always watching over us, always loving us, and sometimes uses life events like this to remind us of what’s really important. We would like to continue this chain of love and allow you to be those complete strangers that give your love and support to the babies and families of the NICU. In the crazy world we live in today, let’s show everyone that there are still good people out there that want to give our love and support to those in need. All money raised will be used to purchase books that will then be donated to the Champaign Carle NICU. Carle will only accept new books, but if you would like to donate the physical book instead please contact one of us and we will make arrangements to get these from you.
Thanks and much love,
Drew, Kymber, Deacon, and Zoey
