HI! I'm Colby's mom and I'm trying to raise funds for his family.
On December 26th, after a day celebrating Christmas; Colby, Sassha and their boys (4 and 2 yrs old) were involved in a frightening and tragic accident on route 143 on their way home.
They came head to head with a herd of horses galloping towards them down the middle of the road. Horses are like moose, their eyes do not reflect light. They were all dark colored on a dark night. They could not avoid all of them. The hit was extremely hard and shook everyone. Their youngest was sound asleep but the oldest saw the event unfold. Tragically, one horse did not survive and Colby's truck is a total loss. Thankfully, his family was okay.
First responders from the Ayer's Cliff Fire Department, paramedics and police all came quickly on this dark freezing night. A huge thank you to all the wonderful men and women who assisted, cared and comforted them! Their faces and voices will always be remembered.
The dust is settling, but they are now facing the aftermath.! The mental anguish and burden of what happened that night, struggling with the 1 way insurance on the truck that won't even cover the need to buy new car seats as per the law and finding a replacement vehicle as soon as possible since they need to get to work. All this after Christmas expenses!!
They are not ones to ask for help, but the last couple years have been very challenging for their family.
They could really use your help!!
Please, find it in your hearts to help them. Any donation will be greatly appreciated
Our deepest sympathies to the horse owners for the tragic loss of Milly. As Colby's oldest son stated, " she's a star now".
Thank you so very much from all of us❤️
