Eagle Scout Project: Baseball Field Additions

Donation protected
Hello All,

My name is Eli Bump and I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 201 out of Scottsdale, Arizona. I started as a Cub Scout as soon as I was old enough to join, which was as a Tiger Scout in 1st grade. Over the past 11 years, I've had so many experiences that have helped me become an even more resourceful and responsible person. I also have tons of outdoor adventure memories from Scout Camps as well as outings our Pack and Troop organized and went on every month. I've met lots of great people and have made great friends over the years. During fundraising events for our Pack and Troop, I would get to hear from Eagle Scouts who would stop to support us. They would talk about their time in Scouts and would always have an example of how being an Eagle Scout made a difference in their life. I remember from a very young age hearing these stories and hoping that someday that would be me. As I got older I knew that it would take a lot of work and dedication but I never lost sight of wanting to achieve that rank. Now that I'm at this point and am getting closer to achieving that goal, I can see why they all were so glad they saw it through.

To anyone who isn’t familiar with the Boy Scouts of America, achieving the Eagle Scout rank is one of the highest honors a Scout can receive. One of the most important requirements to attain this rank is planning and executing a service project, which benefits the community.

I have chosen to build helmet and bat racks for the local little league baseball fields. I started playing baseball when I was four, starting with tee-ball. I have just as many great memories playing baseball and have learned lots of great lessons that will be with me for life. I spent many years of my little league days playing on these fields and I wanted to give back to the City of Scottsdale, the place that provided me with fields to play on. I continue to play baseball for my high school and during the summers and I hope to continue playing as long as I can. Getting to do a project that combines both baseball and Scouts really means a lot to me.

The reason that I have started this GoFundMe is to raise money to cover the costs of my Eagle Project. My goal for this project is to raise $2,000. This will cover the cost of materials, supplies, and tools.

Any support you can give is greatly appreciated, no matter the amount of donation. Your contribution will greatly benefit the next group of little league baseball players who play on these fields.

Thank you very much for your generosity,

Eli Bump - Troop 201

*All money raised will go toward the project, with any remaining funds being donated to a charity*
