My name is Grant Gaither.
I am a member of Boy Scout Troop 70. I am a Life Scout and a Sophomore at Highland Park High School. Boy Scouts has allowed me to have some amazing experiences, like going to Philmont, New Mexico, and backpacking 50 miles. Also, Scuba diving in the Florida Keys at Sea Base. Now it's time for possibly my greatest scouting feat: my Eagle Project, “Three Wheels Forward,” which will benefit Daymark Living in Waxahachie.
Daymark is a community designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, offering a place where they can live independently. My Aunt Kate, who has Down Syndrome, has been a resident since the opening 8 years ago. Currently, they have 180 residents. Some residents use mobility tricycles as a way to move around their expansive campus. But unfortunately, not all residents are able to afford the trikes.
For my Eagle Project, I will be purchasing and assembling. 3-4 trikes to donate. Each trike costs $500, so my goal is to raise $1,500 to donate at least three trikes. However, I hope to raise enough funds to purchase a fourth trike. I plan to order the trikes by October 30th.
An additional $200 will be used for supplies and tools.
Thank you for helping me complete this significant milestone,
Grant
