Daxton (Schwartz) Lindsey Medical Needs

My name is AJ Schwartz and I am fundraising on behalf of my nephew Daxton.

In September of this year, our precious little boy at 4 months had, what appeared to be, nerve damage to his right arm because the doctor noticed he was not grabbing for things with that hand. He began physical therapy. He was sent to a pediatric physical therapist where they determined it was the entire right side of his body that was weak. On November 14th, Dax began making irregular movements and the doctor asked us to make an appointment. However, by the next day, the movements had increased in frequency and became patterned. We brought Dax into the emergency room and the doctor quickly admitted him because Dax was having infantile spasms (seizures). Over the next three days, Dax had a CT, EEG, and was put under for an MRI. The doctors discovered that Dax had a stroke in utero that has affected most of the left side of his brain. Dax is now receiving a high dose steroid to hopefully stop the spasms. He will continue physical therapy and begin occupational therapy to try minimizing the damage to the right side of his body. Even with insurance, we have incurred medical bills exceeding $10,000 dollars due to the co-pays, deductible, and medication costs. We are asking for any help to cover Daxton’s bills.
