In Loving Memory of Our Mum, Dawn Palmer

It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of our beautiful mum, Dawn Palmer, who was born on 11th May 1969 and sadly passed away peacefully on 25th November 2025 at 14:14, surrounded by love — her devoted husband Shane, her sons, and her family by her side. Dawn passed away due to double pneumonia.

Mum was one of those truly special people who was loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She was the best mum anyone could have asked for — kind, selfless, endlessly loving, and always putting others before herself. She leaves behind her devoted husband Shane, and her children Aston, Leon, Marcos, Harley, Riley, and Bailey, who were her absolute world.

Mum was also a much-loved mother-in-law to Samantha, Beth, and Charlie, whom she cared for deeply and welcomed as her own. Family meant everything to her, and her love for us all knew no limits.

One of mum’s greatest joys in life was being a nan. Known lovingly as Nanny, Nanny Borris, and Nanny Dawn, she absolutely adored her grandchildren — Mason, Ryder, Hudson, Ayla, Aria, Colby, and Adelaide. She cherished every second she spent with them and was happiest when she was spoiling them, usually with sweets. She will be deeply missed by all of her grandchildren, every single day.

In 2023, mum was diagnosed with leukemia. From the very beginning, she faced her diagnosis with incredible strength, courage, and positivity. She endured every test, every treatment, every needle, poke, and prod without complaint — never once batting an eyelid. Mum always said she would never give cancer a single tear, and she stayed true to her word. As her immediate family, we know with absolute certainty that cancer did not take our mum — her strength, spirit, and positivity were far greater than that.

Mum was the strongest and most positive person you could ever meet. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and always found light, even in the darkest moments. Our lives will never be the same without her, and she is missed more than words can ever express.

We are setting up this GoFundMe to honour one of mum’s final wishes. Instead of flowers, she asked that a final donation be made to St Bart’s Cancer Ward, where she was cared for and treated weekly. Mum always spoke so highly of the staff and the care she received there — she only ever had positive experiences, and she was deeply grateful for everything they did for her.

We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, for anyone who is able to donate — no matter how small — to help us fulfil mum’s final wish and make a meaningful donation to St Bart’s Cancer Ward in her memory.
