In December 2013, David Silva went to the doctor for recurring back pain. An MRI found a mass on his spine. Since then, very little of the medical news has been good. In short order, David had a kidney removed (the original source of the cancer that has now spread to his spine), and has undergone radiation, chemotherapy, and more surgery.

Today, David and his wife, Sharon Burton (his full-time caregiver), can use our financial support. They are facing mounting medical bills (even with health insurance, the out-of-pocket expenses are crushing).

Sharon could use part-time caregivers so that she can buy food, pick up medication, wrangle insurance companies, teach classes, or even buy an occasional skein of yarn.
