On October 16, 2022, an unexpected event occurred. My aunt received a phone call saying there was a car accident and her husband was seriously injured. Her brother (our Dad) sustained less severe injuries. However, our Uncle, David Stogoski, is still suffering from injuries sustained that day and is paralyzed from the waist down. It has been a painful road for our Uncle, who has had many surgeries, and it will not be an easy road ahead. Our family has been united in prayer as we hope for a full recovery for my Uncle.

While this has been both mentally and physically challenging for my Uncle, it has also been and will continue to be costly. There are a number of changes that will have to be made for a new “normal” way of life. This includes purchasing an electric scooter, reconstructing their home, and purchasing a handicapped-accessible vehicle that he will be able to use. These are just some of the expenses that will have to be covered by my Aunt and Uncle. While this has not been easy on our family, we are all very grateful that our Dad and Uncle are still alive. Hug your loved ones a little bit tighter today because in the blink of an eye, your entire life could change. <3

This is going to be a challenging and expensive journey ahead for my Uncle and Aunt.
