My name is Megan, and asking for help like this is something I never imagined doing. But my family is at a point where we’re facing the possibility of losing our home, and I’m reaching out with hope that compassion still exists in the hearts of others.

My mom has endured a long and painful medical history — a heart valve replacement, diabetes, two brain tumor surgeries, and a hernia. She has fought her way through every challenge with strength and faith, but she is unable to work because of her condition.

Not too long ago we suffered the sudden loss of my father from kidney failure, leaving just me and my mom to carry everything on our shoulders. At the time, I was attending school while working three jobs to keep us afloat. With the help of my aunt, we managed to get by, but we are now nearing the end of our funds.

My aunt herself is now unable to work due to a blood clot in her brain, leaving me as the only person who can support our home. Even while working three jobs, the financial strain is becoming impossible to manage on my own. We are trying our absolute best, but without help, we may lose the only home we have left after everything we’ve been through.

This is truly the last thing I ever wanted to do. I’m not someone who asks for help easily. But I’m hoping, from the bottom of my heart, that there are people who can lend even a little support during this incredibly difficult time. Anything helps—sharing, donating, or simply keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
