From Darkness 2 Light:Be a light for Orphans in Sierra Leone

Dear Friends and Supporters,

We are Angie, Julia, Louisa & Abby 3 nurses & a teacher who are currently volunteering in Sierra Leone, West Africa. We're reaching out to support Divine Heritage Home, an extraordinary orphanage transforming lives since 2008.

A Beacon of Hope Amidst Devastation

Sierra Leone, ranked the third poorest country in the world (2023), has been ravaged by civil war, Ebola, mudslides, and poverty. Over 5% of children are orphaned, left traumatized and vulnerable. Divine Heritage Home provides shelter, Christian education, food, clothing, and medical care to 11 resident children and supports 26 more reunited with relatives.

Critical Need: Solar Power & Running Water

Despite love and care, the orphanage lacks access to electricity & running water. Located in an area without power infrastructure, solar panels are the only solution. We aim to purchase and install solar panels by December 2024, ensuring:

•⁠ ⁠Reliable energy for daily operations

•⁠ ⁠Improved health, education, and well-being

•⁠ Providing a high quality cement walled well with a submersible pump & piping

Personal Connection and Transparency

We've formed strong bonds with the children and owners since November 2023. We'll stay in Sierra Leone until June 2025, ensuring project completion. All funds will go directly to Divine Heritage Home, with regular updates.
