A safe haven of Compassion and Healing

At Thabarwa we believe in the boundless potential of compassion. Rooted in the timeless teachings of Buddhism, our community offers a safe and nurturing space for those facing life’s most difficult challenges — people struggling with mental illness, homelessness, trauma, or simply the weight of modern life.

Founded in 2017, Thabarwa Nature Center EU has already helped many people in need, offering unconditional care and support to those who had nowhere else to turn.

Here, residents and volunteers live together in harmony, practicing mindfulness, offering mutual support, and creating an environment of genuine care and acceptance. This model is unique, created and sustained by the monk Sayadaw Ottamathara (120 centers worldwide). The Italian center is inspired by the original Thabarwa in Myanmar and offers residential, unconditional shelter, spiritual refuge, and food to anyone in need — without judgment or discrimination.

Our center is not just a place — it’s a way of life. Every day, volunteers cook, clean, meditate, and share their everyday life with those who have nowhere else to turn. There is no separation between giving and receiving — we grow together, heal together, and walk the path of compassion side by side.

But now, we urgently need your help.

Our current space is no longer enough. To meet the growing demand, we are working to renovate and expand our facilities — so we can welcome more people in need and offer them a warm, safe place to rest and recover.

The funds we need for this expansion are:

Un Rifugio sicuro di Compassione e Guarigione

Al Thabarwa crediamo nel potere illimitato della compassione. Radicata negli insegnamenti senza tempo del Buddhismo, la nostra comunità offre uno spazio sicuro e accogliente a chi affronta le sfide più difficili della vita — persone che lottano con malattie mentali, senza fissa dimora, traumi o semplicemente il peso della vita moderna.

Fondato nel 2017, il Thabarwa Nature Center EU ha già aiutato molte persone in difficoltà, offrendo cure e sostegno incondizionati a chi non aveva più nessun altro a cui rivolgersi.

Qui, residenti e volontari vivono insieme in armonia, praticando la consapevolezza, offrendo supporto reciproco e creando un ambiente di cura e accettazione autentiche. Questo modello è unico, creato e sostenuto dal Monaco Sayadaw Ottamathara (120 Centri in tutto il mondo). Il Centro Italiano si ispira al Thabarwa originale in Myanmar, e fornisce in forma residenziale, accoglienza incondizionata, rifugio spirituale e cibo a chiunque ne abbia bisogno, senza giudizio, né discriminazione.

Il nostro centro non è solo un luogo — è uno stile di vita. Ogni giorno, i volontari cucinano, puliscono, meditano e condividono la loro vita con chi non ha più un posto dove andare. Non c’è separazione tra chi dà e chi riceve — cresciamo insieme, guariamo insieme e camminiamo fianco a fianco sul sentiero della compassione.

Ma ora abbiamo urgentemente bisogno del tuo aiuto.

Lo spazio attuale non è più sufficiente. Per rispondere alla crescente domanda, stiamo lavorando per ristrutturare ed espandere le nostre strutture, in modo da poter accogliere più persone bisognose e offrire loro un luogo caldo e sicuro dove riposare e guarire.

Ein sicherer Zufluchtsort des Mitgefühls und der Heilung

In Thabarwa glauben wir an die grenzenlose Kraft des Mitgefühls. Verwurzelt in den zeitlosen Lehren des Buddhismus, bietet unsere Gemeinschaft einen sicheren und liebevollen Raum für Menschen, die mit den schwersten Herausforderungen des Lebens konfrontiert sind – Menschen mit psychischen Erkrankungen, Wohnungslosigkeit, Traumata oder einfach mit der Last des modernen Lebens.

Gegründet im Jahr 2017 hat das Thabarwa Nature Center EU bereits vielen Menschen in Not geholfen, indem es ihnen bedingungslose Fürsorge und Unterstützung bot, wenn sie sonst niemanden mehr hatten.

Hier leben Bewohner und freiwillige Helfer*innen gemeinsam in Harmonie, üben Achtsamkeit, unterstützen sich gegenseitig und schaffen eine Atmosphäre echter Fürsorge und Akzeptanz. Dieses Modell ist einzigartig und wurde vom Mönch Sayadaw Ottamathara ins Leben gerufen und getragen (120 Zentren weltweit).

Das italienische Zentrum ist vom ursprünglichen Thabarwa in Myanmar inspiriert und bietet in Form einer Wohnstruktur bedingungslose Aufnahme, spirituellen Zufluchtsort und

Nahrung für alle Bedürftigen — ohne Urteil oder Diskriminierung.

Unser Zentrum ist nicht nur ein Ort – es ist eine Lebensweise. Täglich kochen, reinigen, meditieren und leben die Freiwilligen gemeinsam mit jenen, die sonst keinen Platz in der Gesellschaft finden. Es gibt keinen Unterschied zwischen Geben und Empfangen – wir wachsen gemeinsam, heilen gemeinsam und gehen Seite an Seite den Weg des Mitgefühls.

Doch jetzt brauchen wir dringend deine Hilfe.

Unser aktueller Raum reicht nicht mehr aus. Um der steigenden Nachfrage gerecht zu werden, arbeiten wir daran, unsere Einrichtung zu renovieren und zu erweitern, damit wir mehr Menschen in Not aufnehmen und ihnen einen warmen, sicheren Ort zum Ausruhen und Erholen bieten können.

Die benötigten Mittel für diese Erweiterung sind:

Aber wir glauben fest an dieses Projekt — und an die Kraft des Mitgefühls. Mit der Unterstützung vieler hilfsbereiter Menschen sind wir zuversichtlich, dass wir es gemeinsam schaffen können.

Unser erstes Ziel ist es, 50.000 € für die Dachreparatur zu sammeln — ein entscheidender Schritt, um Sicherheit zu gewährleisten und das gesamte Gebäude vor weiteren Schäden zu schützen.
