We are an animal sanctuary in N. CA we have rescue, dogs, cats, horses, chickens, cattle, ducks, sheep, goats, pigs emus, alpacas and turkeys. We specialize in taking care of animals with disabilities. We are a non profit animal sanctuary, so all animals we take in live our their lives here.
We rescued a baby emu 2 weeks ago and named him Harley. He is now 5 weeks old and his left leg has started rotating outward. Thankfully we live only an hour away from one of the best avian hospitals in the world. They offer a surgery to help fix Harley’s leg, as a leg rotation is usually something that he would be euthanized for. Adult emus weigh over 100lbs and their legs need to be able to support their weight.
