Laps for Love
Tax deductible
Hi, my name is Etta Smith and I am a junior at Greenville High School! I am also a member of the Ronald McDonald Teen Leadership Board. For the last year, I have been in and out of hospitals and seen about every kind of doctor that there is. Late last year, we found out that I have Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, or POTS. I have had the absolute best support system and I am so, so lucky to have the means for all of the treatments that I may need. A program recently started at Roger C. Peace Hospital, where I will be living and doing intensive rehabilitation in hopes of finding a more functional lifestyle. The first time I toured the hospital, I was pushed in a wheelchair because I can not walk long distances. By the time I complete this program, I hope to walk out and be able to attend a full day of school. As motivation, I have decided to walk laps around the treatment center for donations for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Many of you are probably familiar with the wonderful charity, which provides love and support to families with sick children. I am lucky enough to live right by the hospital, so my family and I are already close together. That is not true for all families, which is the purpose of RMHC: keeping families together. If you are able to donate, you can make a flat donation or a donation per lap. If you are unable to donate, that is completely fine and sharing this message is just as important. I have created a Linktree with my Venmo, GoFundMe, and information about POTS and RMHC. I will be updating you on my progress, thank you so much for your time and support!
