The Mental Health Foundation Australia is proud to partner with Danny Ovens for the “Mind Over Miles" Run.
On 1st of October, Danny will set off from Sydney on foot, running 1,113km to Melbourne over 19 consecutive days to raise vital funds for the Mental Health Foundation Australia. Averaging 58.6km per day across 30,150m of total elevation, which is three times more than his previous challenge from London to Paris.
“Australia welcomed me with open arms this year. As a gratitude, the run will be an attempt to raise $1,000,000 for the Mental Health Foundation Australia, so more people can get the support they need.” — Danny Ovens
Why the Mental Health Foundation Australia?
More than 3,300 Australians lose their lives to suicide every year. Millions of Australians experience mental health concerns each year. Far too many face that journey without adequate access to support, resources, or community.
The Mental Health Foundation Australia is here to bridge that gap, funding evidence-based mental health programs, strengthening support services and ensuring that more Australians can access the care they need the most.
The Mind over Miles campaign carries a fundraising target of $1,000,000. Every dollar donated goes directly towards our mission of promoting better mental health for all.
Danny and his fiancée will document the Miles for Mental Health campaign in real time, sharing daily updates, behind-the-scenes content, and reflections from the road throughout October. The full journey will also be captured in a feature-length documentary film.
