My name is Danika and I'm a proud member of BSA Troop 430. I am a Life Scout currently working toward achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and working on my Eagle Scout Service Project. For my project I am working with Westminster Community Food Pantry which is located in Westminster United Presbyterian Church. I am looking to have an awning installed over the handicap ramp walkway.(see above)

Why an awning ?

This journey began when I first started volunteering at the pantry in my church about two years ago. When we had a delivery come but it was pouring rain and we had to quickly load all the boxes of food onto a cart then bring them inside before everything got soaked. I thought about it and realized an awning would fix the problem. An awning would help to stop the food from becoming subject to the weather. Whether it is rain, snow, or the blaring sun and heat. It would also help to keep our guests safe as well and out of the elements.
