Danielle Larsen: 35 Years Strong, Help Restore Access

Danielle Larsen was only 16 years old when her life changed forever after being injured by a gunshot. As a result, she has lived as a quadriplegic for the past 34 years with a with a spinal cord injury and in May 2026, she will reach an incredible milestone of 35 years living with paralysis.

Despite the physical and emotional challenges she has faced, Danielle has never allowed her injury to define her limitations. She went on to complete high school, pursued college in her 20s, and continues to live independently with her husband and son. She is a devoted mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend, and an inspiration to everyone who knows her.

Although Danielle is paralyzed from the neck down, she has remained active in her community and has spent years mentoring and supporting young women, including those experiencing domestic violence. Rather than living with bitterness as a victim of crime, Danielle has chosen strength, resilience, and purpose, even while enduring daily pain that most of us could not imagine.

Today, Danielle faces one of her greatest barriers to independence: transportation. Accessible community transit services are extremely limited and unreliable, making it nearly impossible for her to attend basic life events such as family gatherings, medical appointments, school events, weddings, funerals, or even a simple lunch with loved ones. Specialized accessible taxi services exist, but their costs are overwhelming and unsustainable on her limited income.

Danielle is in urgent need of her own wheelchair-accessible vehicle, a lifeline that would allow her to continue her education, mentorship work, medical care, and most importantly, remain fully present in her family’s life as her 19-year-old son prepares for college this fall.

Instead of viewing May 2, 2026 as a painful anniversary, we want to celebrate Danielle’s 35 years of resilience by helping her regain freedom, dignity, and independence.

Every donation matters, whether it’s $10, $50, or $100. Your support will directly help Danielle continue to inspire others and live the full life she has fought so hard to maintain.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with Danielle.

All donations are securely processed through GoFundMe, a trusted and protected fundraising platform. Funds raised will go directly toward the purchase of a safe, reliable wheelchair-accessible van, including required mobility modifications, taxes, and registration.

Your generosity will directly impact Danielle’s ability to live independently, safely, and with dignity.

Thank you sincerely for supporting Danielle and helping her continue to inspire so many people.
