Daniel White's "Bundles of Hope" Eagle Project

Hi, my name is Heidi Battaglia and I am the mother of Daniel White. Daniel is a member of Troop 5679 in the High Desert and has been since the age of 11. He is 14 years old, has autism stemming from a chromosome anomaly (2q13) and has been in Boy Scouts for the last 8 years starting as a Tiger Cub.
Daniel obtained his Life Rank last March and now has the opportunity to begin the highest rank available - Eagle Scout.
When deciding what project Daniel wanted to work on, he instantly knew that he wanted to do something in the realm of helping cancer patients newly diagnosed and/or in treatment (after seeing what I had gone through when diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing a double mastectomy, chemotherapy and radiation). He contacted Today's Woman Foundation, located in the High Desert and after talking with the Foundation Executive, Cindy, a plan was formatted and Danny would be on his way to getting his project approved and started.
Here is his plan:
This project has two separate projects within, both working simultaneously together with the Today's Woman Foundation.

125 “Bundles of Hope" boxes for newly diagnosed cancer patients.
I will deliver the completed boxes filled with hopeful and encouraging items, along with the representative and board members from the Today's Woman Foundation, to local cancer doctor/clinics/hospitals.

('Hope' boxes will include items such as: hand painted and designed boxes, HOPE card, cancer resource guide and literature, empowerment doll, handmade bracelet, inspirational books, journal and pen, socks, and other miscellaneous items)

20 "Empowerment through Self-Sufficiency" boxes for domestic violence victims taking an eight-week empowerment class program.
I will present the boxes to the participants of the Empowerment through Self-Sufficiency classes on their first class date scheduled (to be set towards middle to end of June). I will then be present at their final class per the request of the representative to be acknowledged for the boxes and the project itself.

('Empowerment' boxes will include such items as: EMPOWERMENT card, paper and pens, journal, large handheld mirror for activities, pocketbook planner, daily devotionals, as well as other miscellaneous items).

In order for Daniel to make this project happen, he needs your help and support. If you are able to help sponsor this project, Daniel would be greatly appreciative and would like to send you a special Thank You card with two pins (American Flag and Breast Cancer Awareness pin).
