Daniel Fuentes Memorial

Hi my name is Matthew Klingler. I am currently working
towards my rank of Eagle Scout. Part of the requirements for
me to achieve eagle scout rank is to lead and complete a
project that benefits the community. The project I have chosen
is to build a memorial for Daniel Fuentes. Daniel Fuentes was
the only person from Levittown to be killed in action during the
Iraq War. Daniel died on April 6, 2007 when he was only 19
year old. He enlisted in the army 3 months after graduation
from Island Trees High School. “He was the best of the best; a
hard working, never give up kind of guy. He never had a bad
word to say about anybody. He had this smile that lifted up the
room.
In order to complete the project I need to fundraise for the
material that will be necessary to complete his memorial.
My project is going to be done at the East Village Green. We
will be building a memorial that will have two benches, a
weeping cherry tree, pull bars, and special flag of rock and a
plaque in his honor where his family can sit and remember
Daniel.
