I’m making this in hopes to help my mom in anyway as we as a community can in easing her of the burden of financial dues. My mom came to the US as a young adult in search for a better life. With all the hurdles it’s brought upon her, she’s established her life as a independent single mother and a member of the Thai-American community. Always too stubborn for her own good she has never asked for help assuming that she’s insignificant and not worth the assistance of a helping hand. Recently she’s come into a situation involving the status of her citizenship and is in need of hiring an attorney. Hesitant for me to create this because she is worried about the vulnerability of her status, I assured her that there are good people willing to help without putting her at risk. My mom is one of the most resilient people I know, a single mother who worked at most 3 jobs when I was growing up to take care of us, a survivor of endometrial cancer, and a godsend. I think of the sacrifices she’s made for herself and where it’s brought her today and I only can ask if you can to help ease her day to day worry about having to leave the place she’s known as home for the last 30 or so years at anytime.
