Maybe you started out in a TJT class...were in the original Jazz Traxx dance company...learned to tap as an adult in her studio...were one of the countless students who learned her choreography in show choir, or a school musical...are one of the second or third generation families to take dance at her studio...know that a Chameleon is more than a lizard...earned college dance credit in her class...were a DWTAS couple she taught...learned Sing Song routines from her...
Whatever your dance story is, if you lived in Abilene your dance story was somehow started or strengthened through Teri Wilkerson and Dance Discovery Studios.
As most of you know by now, DDS was destroyed by a tornado that touched down on May 18, 2019 in Abilene. Our hearts are broken at the devastation but restored by the love and support of this community. Within this community is our Dance Discovery family, past and present, and your love and prayers have been pouring in and are being heard.
The DDS family extends well beyond the boundaries of Abilene. Kids have grown and moved on to start families of their own. College students graduated and moved back home, others moving on to bigger cities. Some have stayed and now their children take classes at DDS. Whatever your story, whatever your connection, we ask that first and foremost you PRAY! Pray for Teri & Kirby. Leave messages of encouragement and love as their hearts work to heal and the damage is cleaned up and they work to move forward. Pray that they can rebuild stronger than ever.
"A dance teacher helps their students find the song in their heart, the beat in their feet and a passion for life."
I know Teri has helped hundreds of you or your children find that song, that beat, that passion over the past 34 years. Let us together help get Dance Discovery Studios back on its feet!
