Dan Wong Child Fund & Flight School Scholarship
Donation protected
Hello my name is Jason Brewer. I have known Dan Wong for nearly 20 years. He unexpectedly passed away due to a heart attack in his sleep this summer leaving behind his lovely wife Paulin and their two beautiful children, Tabitha (24) and Darryl (19).
Dan was and is one of the smartest people I have known. I first met Dan when he was in charge of Air Canada’s flight operation group. Boeing and GE were working hard to sell 777 and 787s to Air Canada as part of their wide body fleet renewal plan.
Dan then moved to Dubai as the VP of Flight Operations for Emirates airlines. Dan was instrumental in helping Boeing and GE shape the 777-300ER replacement aircraft, later to become the 777-9.
After a small stint as a professor at the University of Central Missouri, Dan joined Boeing as the Director of Airplane Strategy. He eventually was a major factor in recruiting me to join Boeing as the Director of Engine Strategy. 15 years of knowing Dan, and I finally was going to be able to work with him. Needless to say, our time was way too short as we only spent 18 months working together.
Daniel (as Paulin calls him) was a wonderful husband, father, and provider for his family. He also was a true mentor, teacher, and innovator to everyone that was around Dan in a work environment. Dan touched and inspired many many people during his career.
A number of Dan’s colleagues would like to start this Go Fund Me page in memory of Dan to raise funds for two specific causes: Darryl Wong’s college tuition and a donation to a flight school in the Seattle area as a scholarship in memory of Daniel Wong for young students who desire to become a pilot.
Dan was always helping others, and giving a little bit back in his honor is the least we can do for ambitious students wanting to learn to fly and to help fund his son’s continuing college education.
Thank you in advance for your generosity to supporting these two wonderful causes.
