As we all know, God works in wild and crazy ways, and right now the Daley's are living proof of this whirlwind of a way God uses us. Lots of times the hard stuff doesn't come along when we are ready for it; it comes along and interrupts the best laid plans for our future.
Monday morning Jessica was in contact with one of their former foster daughters, Haley. Eleven years ago God interrupted their lives as Greg prepared for a sermon for Advent season. He received a call during his preparation to take in a 6-week old baby whose name was Haley.

This was Jude's first experience with a sister, as you can see in the pictures.

Greg, Jess, and Jude, along with their strong Seattle network of friends and family, cared for Haley for almost a year and then transitioned her back to her biological father. Many of you have followed the Daley family and know how right, but also how painful, this was for them. Over the years Greg, Jess, and Jude stayed in contact with Haley and her father.
Before leaving Seattle in 2011, not wanting to risk Haley ever going into foster care again, the Daley's helped John, Haley’s dad, write a will. The Daley’s officially became Haley’s godparents.
Since moving and living in Fort Collins, the Daley family has been blessed with three more children. They adopted a sibling set of three in 2015 and many of you again have followed and lived that journey with them. Greg and Jessica also started a company called Xcelerate that serves churches all across the United States through cloud-based accounting services. They have an amazing team that continues to help lead this charge.

In 2019 Greg and Jessica and their four children went on a 7-month RV trip around the country. They were able to "blend" as a family, create memories, and meet their church clients face-to-face. While on the RV trip, Greg, Jess, and Jude were able to reconnect with Haley and her father, John, while the three beautiful children were able to meet and connect with them for the first time. They had a wonderful time together and enjoyed visiting Seed Church, the church Greg and Jess helped plant in 2003.

In early 2020 Greg and Jessica knew it was time to have Greg become the Visionary of Xcelerate while Jessica became more available for their growing teenagers. Jessica recently gave a farewell speech to their team as March 31st is her last day in the day-to-day life of Xcelerate.
Sadly, and unexpectedly, a new reality has found them as Haley’s father passed away over the weekend. As soon as they found out the news, Greg promptly dropped everything and hopped on a plane to get to Haley in Seattle. Before he left, Greg and Jess shared the news with their four children. Their response has been uplifting and from God; the kids love Haley and are excited to welcome her to their family. She's the same age as their daughter, who is looking forward to having a sister. Greg will be bringing Haley back to Colorado next week. They plan to have her join a sibling's class at Heritage Christian Academy.

The Daley’s are going through all sorts of emotion and are preparing to be able to help their current 4 kids and their new daughter, Haley, to transition peacefully. Both of them will be focused on loving their four children through this exciting and challenging new chapter, as well as helping their new child, Haley, grieve the loss of her father, life in Seattle, and everything she knows as normal. Although this is no surprise to Haley and the next of kin to Haley, moving abruptly shapes one’s life. Your prayers are welcome.
This is a unique time as Jessica was handing off her duties to open herself up to more time as a mother. In her speech to the company she shared her dream of a full table, and God is slowly filling it as children need the love she and Greg can provide. This is definitely not the way they pictured it happening, but they are grateful they can step in and be in a place to love and support as God continues to invite them into a story much bigger than themselves.
The Daley's continue to be blessed with an amazing network of people, both in northern Colorado and across the nation, as everyone rallies around to help them right now. This includes their own family, other adoptive parents, therapists, pastors, friends, colleagues, life and business coaches, neighbors; the list goes on and on! They know they will have the support they need from every angle as this story continues to unfold.
As you know, these events cost time and money, and we would love to participate in Extraordinary Generosity to the Daley family. Expenses such as last-minute plane tickets, driving back to Colorado with Haley, her chihuahua, her bird, and her gecko (yes, it's now the Daley family of 7 and 4 animals!), legal fees, Christian school, clothes, furniture, bedding, school supplies, etc. are popping up every day and will be for a while.
Give as God leads you, and thank you for continuing to walk the journey with the Daley's as you always have. The support they have and feel has always been overwhelmingly abundant for the call of God on their lives.
