My cherished friend Dale lost the love of his life, his wife Becky, on July 29th, after 38 years of dedicated marriage. Many months ago, Becky was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. She fought the disease valiantly, with her devoted and loving husband, children, family and friends by her side.

Cancer affects all of us. Like so many families experiencing the loss of a loved one, they are confronted with many financial challenges, both expected and unexpected, in addition to the emotional pain they are experiencing. As Dale and his children grieve the loss of their beloved wife and mother, an urgent financial burden has arisen. Presently, there are over $8,000 of mounting medical costs related to Becky’s care.

In addition, his household income has been reduced dramatically, adversely impacting his ability to pay for household expenses that were formerly shared with his wife. Considering this, due to these financial limitations, Dale may be forced to leave his home that he and Becky loved and shared for a number of years.
