A well-known face around Pennine Mencap is Daisy, who has had an amazing journey with the Charity. Pennine Mencap is a third sector organisation that supports people with learning disabilities and complex needs in the community. Daisy is doing a sponsored skydive to help raise money to support an arts and crafts studio as well as a quiet room within the building.

This is an amazing, selfless opportunity for the charity, which Daisy originally started as a student placement. Any funds raised will go directly towards renovating an unsafe, derelict room and help the charity transform this space into an enthralling arts and crafts studio where service users can create and participate in a variety of different creative outlets, expressing themselves and designing their own pieces.

The funds will also support the creation and development of a quiet room, which will serve a vital purpose, providing service users with a space to decompress, calm, and meet sensory needs to nourish individual well-being.

Daisy has wanted to take part in a skydive for years and was supported by those close to her. With this bucket list opportunity, we are endlessly grateful for her collaboration with us as a charity.

Any support given towards this cause is amazing; it's a fabulous moment for Daisy, as well as supporting a local charity to meet the needs of more people in the community.
