Dailey’s custody battle

Donation protected

Most people who know me know that Brandon Dailey is like a brother to me. Today I am asking for help in his name. For the past year he and his wife have been fighting for custody of his two oldest boys from an ex-wife that is flt out terrible. Below I have detailed some of the things that this family has been forced to endure but the short of it is that the children have been removed from a drug and alcohol abusive home which already claimed the life of their  younger brother.

On the 23rd of November 2019 Brandon’s 2 older sons called him and told him that their 11-month-old brother had been found dead in his crib. Brandon was granted emergency leave and immediately flew out to Everett , Washington to support Wyatt and Dane. He spent a week with them being there to console them while they grieved the loss of their baby brother. During that time Brandon left his information with a detective and asked if anything changed concerning the well-being of Wyatt and Dane to give him a call. 2 weeks later Brandon and Garrett received a phone call from that detective, saying that Wyatt, Dane and their younger sister were removed from the care of their mother and were currently in the care of Washington CPS, and that their mother and the boys’ step-father were under investigation for the death of the baby. Again, Brandon was granted emergency leave and flew to  Washington. CPS placed Wya# and Dane into the care of Brandon and he took them home to Alaska. Brandon and Garrett  were told that CPS cannot change any custody agreements and to get a lawyer in order to keep Wyatt and Dane safe. In the year that Wyatt and Dane have now been living with Brandon and Garrett, it has come out that the baby died due to exposure to drugs, their step father died of a drug overdose shortly after. Detailed police reports, CPS reports and criminal history background checks have opened Brandon and Garrett’s eyes to how tumultuous a home Wyatt and Dane were living in while in their mother’s care. Wyatt and Dane did their best to hide the reality of how dangerous their living situation was out of fear of reprisal from their mom and step dad.

Brandon and Garrett have accrued an immense amount of debt in the past year. Their bills include; attorney fees, court costs, investigation  fees, and in order to continue with therapy sessions for Wyatt and Dane, have recently had to start paying out of pocket. On top o5 these costs, they are also legally obligated to continue paying child support to the boys’ mother. Garrett and Brandon have and will continue to do their very best best to manage their 2 little babies while providing Wyatt and Dane the very best environment to heal and thrive in their loving home.

All parents say they would do anything for  their children. Brandon and Garrett have now been afforded  the opportunity to do that very thing. In order to proceed any further with this now year long case, they will need to pay upwards of $30,000 to their lawyers. To include a non-nego*able $10,000 retainer. It has been a hard and unprecedented year for the world, and if you are able, I ask that you please consider helping this family protect their 2 oldest sons. It would mean the world to the Dailey family, and they would appreciate any relief.

Just an quick update. I wanted to take this time to tell everyone who has helped so far thank you so much! All of the money raised will go directly to the Dailey family to pay off court costs and the later fees to move forward with the custody battle. Sincerely, Brian Riesberg
