Cataracts are the leading cause of visual impairment and blindness in Sri Lanka, primarily affecting the elderly. Although cataract surgery is a simple and highly effective procedure, it remains inaccessible to many due to financial hardship.

The Sri Lanka America Association of Southern California (SLAASC) is proud to launch the “Dahasak Neth” initiative. Our mission is to provide 1,000 free cataract surgeries to underprivileged individuals throughout Sri Lanka. With this effort, we aim to restore not only vision but also dignity, hope, and opportunity to those who need it most.

Each surgery costs just $50, making this one of the most meaningful and life-changing contributions you can make.
