Help for Ukraine

Thanks for reading. Since spring 2022 our dad has been driving into Ukraine and back, delivering various provisions such as clothes, food, toiletries, sanitary items, and medical aid, to those who aren't being reached. Soon he's heading back...

Dad, (Kevin) has a massive heart and no time for technology. So while we're reluctant to see him go, we are going to help him fundraise. His route involves driving his trusted van (Dad's a builder), stocked up with donations, from the UK to Kyiv. He then meets other volunteers at the Polish border to restock with donations and return to Ukraine, repeating as often as they can. Then returns to the UK to stock up and start over.

We know people are struggling all over, but any donation you can afford will mean that he can continue to do as many trips as possible, even a £1 would be great. Kevin will also be arranging collections for any items people wish to donate, please see the itinerary below and also how the funds will be distributed.

TRIP ITINERARY

Along the way, dad has affiliated himself with other local charities and aid workers where he will be able to stay for no added costs.

The journey starts in the UK where he loads the van with all the collected donations. Then drives to the Polish border, where he is affiliated with a charity and has helped to build an orphanage. Then driving to the small villages surrounding Lviv and Kyiv where all UK donations will be dispatched to local town halls or civic buildings, and distributed to those in need. Once the donations have run out and the van is empty he will return to the Polish border to meet other volunteer groups he will assist, in between doing his own trips, as and when he can afford them, thanks to this page.

At this moment the exact movements of the trip or return date cannot be readily determined as many of the journeys will involve live information and planning. We will also provide updates and photos as often as possible.

"First chance I’ve had to say thank you to everyone you have been brilliant the go fund me is doing great and I have spoken to my friends in Ukraine generators are desperate so I can buy another it looks like it will be 4 now thanks everyone these are the 2 we have now my daughter is bringing 1 from London and we have enough funds to buy another of the suitcase-type because they really save lives. The top generator is brand new and kindly donated so a big thank you "

Dad has almost collected enough item donations to fill the van on this first trip but is happy to keep collecting in Thanet for the next one in February. He's also really amazed at what's been raised from everyone's cash donations. Thanks from us all! More updates soon...

Just to let you know the van is fully loaded and I am booked in the ferry early tomorrow morning as well as 3 generators tons of clothes food sanitary and medical aid . We have sweets and gifts for the children so a big thank you to everyone I couldn’t do this without your help .
