Daddy Daughter Cooking
We are Daddy Daughter Cooking...
My name is Ben and my daughter's name is Kaia.
So far we have raised nearly 10% of our original goal! We need your help in sharing our goals with anyone you can... our goal is to reach a million people! I just lowered our total campaign goal by $5000. Thanks to some pro-bono offeres for help in other areas of our business development.
Recently one of our facebook live videos reached nearly 200,000 people in one week and its still growing its audiences. So are doing something right. : ))))
Please help where you can. Whether its sharing our link or making the minimum donation of $5... we are doing our best! We believe in the grass roots funding. I know how important you time is, so thanks in advance.
I have been trying to make ends meet, all the while trying to finish and self-publish our book, build our website and take care of my kiddo properly... toss in an emergency root canal yesterday and things are just not playing out very well. I am sinking, both emotionally and financially.
First world problems... I know!
Here's the kicker... what we are trying to share with everyone; from our book and with our other goals we will and we know it will make the world a better place.
There has been a tragic shift in what we feel as many of you out there feel in the importance of family and communication... WE ALL NEED this to change.

We are attempting to raise money to grow our business to help me, dad, pay the bills for developing the Daddy Daughter Cooking brand. I left a job last November to write the book my daughter suggested we do, which is based partly on our experiences together in the kitchen.
The book and its goals evolved, the underlying goal of the book is to help develop relationships between adults and children through cooking. The way the recipes are structured encourages communication and empowers kids; they (the kids) will begin to develop more trust in and for the adults throughout these steps.
When I left my job in November I remained jobless for about 4 months. I ended up driving for Lyft at the beginning of March. I chose to drive because it not only allowed me to be a more present father, but also to finish the book. It has been a financial struggle since taking the job. I just started working with a the "Fillr'UpLA" Gastro Garage last week. They are a great bunch and fun to work with.
I finished the book and love the ability to be present in my daughter's life. However, I do not make enough to get our business off the ground. I have to rely on a job that is tumultuous at best. Of late, it has not been enough for us to even stay afloat, not to mention trying to continue following our dream of helping others as well as continuing our work together. I am grateful to have 2 jobs now that allow me to bring in more funds to take care of the kiddo and I.
We both want to teach and work with schools and give parents help and guidance in the kitchen. There are two things you need to have to make our approach work... first, the desire to spend time together... and second, just a little planning at the grocery store.
The book has tons of potential. We are currently waiting on others (agencies) to make decisions on the books future, which is making me crazy and causing some serious and undue stress.
The funding will be used for the following:
1) I want to produce our own book and potentially self publish. This process requires a graphic designer and a creation of a template for the book itself. The vision of the book is similar to a childrens interactive book. Larger scale, with fun pictures as well as (hopefully) messy cook resistant. Ideally, you will be able wipe off the pages; so they don't get sticky, water damaged or stained. We would like to bring more to the table and given some outside funding from you, we will be able to do so.
2) To develop The Daddy Daughter Cooking Website with the help of a professional. I own the domain name and many others that are relevant. The website will have blogs from both of our perspectives, videos of each of the recipes from our completed book, and ideally have links to products that we use. Our first book can be sold through the website.
3) To be able to pay a professional crew of to shoot and edit our videos.
4) To help pay for my daughter's continued culinary education.
We are hoping to have all of the funds together by September 15th, 2016. That gives us 30 days to raise $25,000... I believe it is possible, but it will require your help.
Your support would mean the world to us... in fact it is my world. We would like to share the joy Kaia and I have become accustomed to. Our current platforms are as follows:

My daughter has been helping me in the kitchen since she was 4 years old... at her request. She came into the kitchen wearing a junior chef outfit that my wonderful Mother got her the Christmas before and wielding a spoon. We have taken baby steps getting her into the cooking process, but now at age 9, she has learned great culinary fundamentals.
We cook together at least 3 to 4 times a week. She is with me Monday through Friday every week; she at her Moms on the weekends. This what we love to do. We really just want to share with the world how successful our way of doing things in the kitchen has been so far.
Cooking and its stages can be used as a metaphor for the real world. To be successful, you need to be prepared, have a plan, and a working knowledge of what you are to be doing; timing is very important. All the ingredients make a difference in how you live and in our case, cook.
Based on the funds you have invested in us, when the "The Daddy Daughter Cookbook" is published, we will send a free copy as a thank you to those who took the leap and helped us out.
It kills me to ask for help, but we need your help right now. If we can get a leg up in this fight, I am certain that we will be able to achieve our goals of helping others and bringing "Daddy Daughter Cooking" to the world.
Thank you all so much for your time...
I hope we meet our goal very soon, I would love to meet with any of you that are interested.
Best,
Ben and Kaia
