Dad needs 10k for a Rehabilitation Programme to Walk Again

Hi Dad Bill Whitaker has Lived in Cyprus and until now has lived happily for over 10 years here, in this time my father enjoyed playing Golf, Fishing and socialising with new found friends recently he gave up driving due to dementia so meant he got out a bit less and then 2 months ago my Father had a Fall at Home and we had to call an Ambulance, for 12hrs the Hospital Carried out Tests, we was told he had a Thrombosis in his leg which was the reason he fell, he had no head injuries, but Dr's told us he would be admitted as his Kidneys were not working and his Liver was not very good, on top of this he has some fluid on his lung too, we have pushed for nearly 3 years for a Neurologist also to give Dad a full test as we suspected some Dementia and in the last few months his speech had become very limited and slower in reactions, this was confirmed by the Dr and they agreed some Neurology tests will be looked into.
The 1st night was very hard, my father was put on to dialyses and we were told to expect the worst, my heart sunk, I was still getting over losing my Mother who had only died this passing Christmas Day with a sudden but fatal brain Hemorrhage.
The next morning we was happy to know Dad was still with us but remained on dialysis, after 3 days kidney function had returned and a drip of fluids and painkillers remained, daily injections for the thrombosis were given and after 2 weeks function had fully returned but we noticed over this time my father didn't move his legs, when asked we was told the pain from the fall and the thrombosis was the reason, we saw that he was eating and drinking very little and it concerned us that even though we visited 2 times a day food and drink was not being hardly touched, week 3 and 4 passed, and Dr's were now insisting dad to be discharged as kidneys, liver and lung were all good, but when I brought up the neurologist examination and still no movement of his legs at all, the Dr's announced he was going to a specialist hospital for MRI and Scans to see how his spine, pancreas ect.... was, I was quite shocked that a month had passed and neither of these tests had been done, but they happily washed and changed him, meaning rolling him back and forth to do so without any knowledge if he had any damage or they were making it worse.
every time we touched Dads legs or tried to move them from day one, he cried out in pain, for this whole month he had the same feeling.
Finely 5 weeks passed, and results return, told no nerve damage, brakes or fractures found and nothing is wrong with his legs, so again told to take dad home, we refused as my father is around 100kg and how was we to care and manage for his daily needs, hospital were completely uninterested and told us it’s up to us to arrange this as after care is not provided in Cyprus.
Then phone call from Neurologist expert to tell us, maybe the fall had triggered some acceleration in Dad’s dementia and he shows signs of late dementia, we thought at first his quietness and lack of eating and drinking was due to being depressed in the hospital but now we had to start reading up on the care and side effects of dad with dementia, the Hospital moved my father that week from a nice clean and comfortable kidney ward to the old side of the hospital and put into the Pathology ward, this is not a good place to be, Disease and Viruses are kept on this ward and with my father being healthy we was puzzled why would they place him there, Dr's again told us this is not a good ward and to discharge my father as soon as possible, they gave us discharge papers but failed to say he was being discharged knowing he had a paralysis, simply that he needs 24hr care and rehabilitation, reading through the Dementia and Alzheimer's web site we was shocked to read all dads conditions related to this, his communication, eating, drinking and loss of limb feeling and usage. we are now at week 7 in the Hospital and dad will be transferred to a rehabilitation centre of excellence that deals with all dads conditions and needs, problem is this place comes at a huge cost €4.500 per month, sadly only living direct family is his twin sister living in UK on pension and me and my partner, my job was put on hold while I sort my father so I have no income, I hope to raise enough money for my father to gain 3 to 4 months rehabilitation as this will give him the best chance of using his legs again, I can return to work as dad will be in a good place, I will need to place a wet room downstairs for his future and arrange for a live in caregiver when he gets home, everything we have is going towards his first month in the centre and if you have taken the time to read this I do hope and thank you in advance for any help you may be able to pledge.

Best Wishes
