Raising Hopes to Deliver Dreams

Donation protected
Vanuatu is Nation home to many, it is made up of 83 islands scattered over the South Pacific Oceans. They are known to carry contagious Joy, Love and the Smiles, but that hasn't been case recently.

These past weeks and even months, the peoples of Vanuatu are calling on help. After big shocks and earth moments of the 7,6 earthquake in Portvilla, the country has become fearful and afraid. Many tragic stories are just now beginning to unfold, holding many locals in trauma and with fearful hearts!

On the island of Efate, myself and a group of others are joining YWAM Pacific Waves to partnership in hopes of building fresh vision in getting an old abandoned property (since Cyclone Pam 2015) back into function. As this property is in a vital position as a central point for many villages, our hope is that we can help supply and deliver the needs of medical resources, education, food and a provide a place of safety for those within the community.

Currently this property doesn't have any access to running power, or much supply of running water. They are limited on resources, transportation (being very remote from the city) and are lacking many practical resources, even things as simple as bandaids. As power is a disadvantage, the need for food and keeping food fresh is high.

One of my goals through this funding is to be able to raise enough money for a solar powered fridge/freezer. This will eliminate the worries and stresses of trying to find food daily, as well as have access to something as simple as cold water and keep medical things cool.

A little goes a long way, so this is where your help comes in. To spread the word and to ask yourself if there is anything you are willing to do to help the hopes rise across these community.

We are not asking for much; if you feel you want to donate please do. But if you are unsure or want to know more of the Vision and Heart for Vanuatu please reach out and ask.

In the comments, if you specifically want your donations to be put into certain resources (eg; bandaids and medical supplies, fridge/freezer funding, food, building supplies, other necessities) please comment.

For further information please look at the YWAM Pacific Waves Website/ Facebook page.

I have also made a personal video explaining the situation in greater detail, as well as some footage of the projects and surrounds with in the Epule area. My mission is to move there for 8-12 months in hopes to build sustainable programs and establish grounded resources for the villages to come and use. Restoring Water, Power, and Hope in Vanuatu

Dear Friends and Supporters,

On 17 December 2024, a devastating earthquake struck Vanuatu, a developing nation already facing challenges such as limited infrastructure, power, and transport. The earthquake has caused widespread damage across North Efate and the outer islands. Water sources have closed due to earth movement, and over 50 community water tanks have been damaged, leaving families without access to clean drinking water and increasing the risk of waterborne diseases.

As we approach the dry season, the need for immediate action is urgent. With already limited water access, the situation will worsen if we don’t act quickly. We are in a race against time to restore water systems before the dry season sets in.

Beyond the physical destruction, the earthquake has left deep emotional scars, particularly on children, who continue to suffer from fear and trauma as aftershocks persist.

For the next six months, our Earthquake Recovery Project will work alongside local villages to restore essential services, rebuild hope, and strengthen community resilience.

Our Recovery Efforts Will Focus on Three Key Areas:

1. Emergency Water Response – Life Wota

To restore clean water access, we urgently need to:
✅ Repair or replace damaged water tanks
✅ Provide emergency water supplies
✅ Support community-led water restoration efforts

2. Healing Hearts – Trauma Care for Children

Many children in our partner villages are struggling with fear and distress. Our Healing Hearts program offers:
✅ Trauma care and emotional support for children and families

✅ Safe spaces where children can process their trauma through storytelling, art, and sports

✅ Training for local caregivers to ensure ongoing support

3. Urgent Need for Power and Transport

With transportation and power disrupted, relief efforts are severely hindered. We urgently need:

✅ Solar power solutions to keep water pumps and essential equipment operational

✅ A reliable 4WD vehicle to deliver water, supplies, and trauma care teams to affected villages

How You Can Help

Your tax-deductible donation through Australian Mercy – Pacific Village Projects will directly support clean water restoration, trauma care, and the essential power and transport solutions needed for this disaster response
